2017 Honda Accord vs 2017 Chevrolet Malibu

In this article two entirely different concepts of family cars are compared. The Chevrolet Malibu is a representative of the American car industry, while the Accord is typically representative of Japanese cars. We’ll check whether it is a valid old rule that American automobiles are major consumers of fuel, and that Japanese cars are smaller in size.

Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant founded a new Chevrolet Motor Car Company in 1911, which has over the years grown into a large company. After many years, Chevrolet became a part of the world-famous automotive GM corporations. General Motors Corporation is now present with its production in 37 countries around the world and brings together 12 brands (Chevrolet, Opel, Vauxhall, HSV, Holden, Cadillac, GMC, Buick, Ravon, Baojun, Wuling and Jie Fang). Chevrolet is an American car company that represents a strong competition to many automobile manufacturers, among which is certainly the Japanese company Honda. Chevrolet introduced their Malibu model in 1964 as a version of the Chevelle, and the name comes from the name of the town Malibu in California. The Chevrolet Malibu model was performed independently on the market in 1978 and has so far been introduced in eight generations, so the 2017 Chevrolet Malibu will be representative of the ninth generation of this model.

2017 Honda Accord vs. 2017 Chevrolet Malibu Design

When we speak about design of the model 2017 Honda Accord everything is well known, and I wrote in previous articles about all the qualities that will be available to future owners. On this occasion, we direct attention to the model 2017 Chevrolet Malibu. The external dimensions of the 2017 Chevrolet Malibu will be larger than its predecessor, which means that will get a large space in the cabin. Although the dimensions are larger than its predecessor, the new Chevrolet Malibu will be lighter by 200 lbs, thanks to the use of modern alloy materials with less weight, because designers used the Epsilon 2 platform. This popular platform was used in making several models of vehicles from General Motors Corporation. The 2017 Chevrolet Malibu will have the streamlined shape of sedans, with an aggressive and sporty look for the front part, and a stylish and calm appearance last. The manufacturer was tasked with the safety of passengers during the planning of a new Malibu model. The new Malibu will be well equipped with airbags, and there will be 10 of them in the cabin, so the safety of passengers will be great. Other useful features will be Lane Guidance System, parking sensors, rear view camera, and for convenience there will be a modern media MyLink system, an improved air conditioning system inside the vehicle, and so on. Management of many systems will be available over the 7-inch touchscreen display.
